A little puppy beaten and put aside is safe in the arms of rescuers at Stray Rescue of St. Louis after they got a call from a Good Samaritan. The worried caller told them the dog was concerned resident hiding amid a waste pile where a lot of neighbors put their trash and useless stuff.
A evil individual thought that’s where this puppy belonged.
Rescuers observed “Chowder” had wounds on his face. “He’s only a small puppy! His eyes are screwed up and he has puncture wounds on his face. Despite all he’s gone through, he is so happy,” Stray Rescue wrote on Facebook. “He is safe now.”
As Donna approached Chowder he wagged his tail and let her take him up. The Good Samaritan told them that there are individuals in the neighborhood involved “with Pitbulls, meaning dog fighting. Poor Chowder was probably used as a bait dog and bitten by a huge dog.
The instant they put Chowder in the car, he buried his head on one of their shoulders with comfort.
“He just buried his face in our arms on his freedom ride,” they wrote. “The thought of somebody treating him wrong makes us so weepy. This angel needs us. We’re extremely appreciative to the callers for taking action.”
Following viewing the heartbreaking photos, one of Stray Rescue’s supporters wrote, “It’s like he is transferring his weight of anguish on to the shoulders of someone that will cure him! Oh my heart!”
Chowder is finally on his way to a happy life. Once he has been “fixed up” he will be seeking for his permanent home.
