A woman overheard odd weeping from her neighbor’s yard. She had no idea what was happening. She approached his door and knocked. The gentleman was in disbelief. His dog was out doing her business in the backyard when she discovered a litter of pups less than 24 hours old in his backyard.
Clanay, the woman who stole the puppies, stated that she would look after them. She made several phone calls and discovered that the puppies had been abandoned by a backyard breeder. His dog had given birth, and all of the puppies were in critical condition. He couldn’t profit from them, so he dropped them and fled.
According to Clanay, the puppies in the video below looked more like hamsters than canines. When she first saw him, she called him Lucky because she was afraid he would not live. He was smaller and less strong than his siblings.
Unfortunately, after each puppy perished, Clanay came to terms with the fact that Lucky wouldn’t live long. She wasn’t giving up on him, but she needed to prepare herself. She was already developing feelings for the tiny fellow. Despite his bad health and little height, his spirit remained unbreakable. She decided to bring him home from the clinic.
Clanay was shocked to learn that, despite the several barriers, Lucky was determined to eat. This persuaded Clanay that Lucky desired to live. She alternated between bottle and syringe feeding to ensure that the baby received as many nutrients as possible. It also worked! A week passed, then two weeks, and Lucky was still alive.
When Lucky first opened his eyes, Clanay and her family were overjoyed. She realized he had a strong chance of survival at that point. Her main goal was to get him to eight weeks old so she could rest a little. When Clanay discovered Lucky was blind, she met various roadblocks, particularly because Clanay wanted to keep him alive.
Because one of Lucky’s eyes was so damaged, the doctor suggested removing it surgically when he was older. Lucky grew and matured. He was a lot of fun to be around and quite courteous. Despite his blindness, he made every effort to enjoy life to the fullest.
Clanay took Lucky to the doctor when he was four months old to have his sight removed. The small puppy did exceptionally well throughout surgery and recovered quickly. Clanay and Lucky were able to return home after a few days. When she asked why, he said, “Lucky is also albino.”
Clanay and the rest of Lucky’s family were notified by his doctor that he had a rare brain illness. Clanay was stunned, especially after learning about the extra problems Lucky will face as a result of this diagnosis. Clanay didn’t care if Lucky lived a “normal” life; all she cared about was providing him with the greatest life possible.
Clanay became his legal mother and gracefully accepted all of Lucky’s health challenges (as did Lucky!). Watch the video below to learn more about the extraordinary dog and his beautiful mother. It is definitely worth your time! We owe Clanay our gratitude for saving Lucky’s life!
