This small puppy was born with hydrocephalus and has a slight deviation in his eyes, making him cross-eyed, but that does not detract from how adorable he is.
In general, many rescued dogs born with a health condition that impairs their physiognomy are not generally the first option to take home, because some people believe that the animal’s look is more important than its feelings.
Chupete, a beautiful dog around a month and a half old, is a tragic illustration of this since no one wants to adopt him due of the size of his head.
Chupete was born with hydrocephalus, a rare disorder that causes his head to be that enormous, and he is now searching for a home and a loving family to support him with his medical studies in addition to his therapies. However, once his tale was published by the Frias Nose Foundation, some Internet users began making fun of his condition, eventually generating memes based on his look.
“There is nothing more lovely in this world than a puppy, and much more so if this is a miracle of survival,” Claudia Patricia Martinez, one of those in command of the civil rescue institution, stated in a Facebook video. “Chupette didn’t have to be born; the vet informed us he perished because part of his brain mass was outside his head,” she revealed.
Aside from hydrocephalus, the puppy has a little deviation in his eyes that causes him to be cross-eyed. “He’s half squinting like that, but it gives him that touch of tenderness,” Claudia says, who has dedicated herself to promoting him on social media in order to find him a home, because he urgently needs the warmth of a loving family, as well as the treatments he requires to recover from his health problem.
“Please consider Chupete if you are in a position to adopt; he is a good puppy,” Claudia stated in the video. “There is no question that the family that decides to adopt him will carry away that small gift that God sends to rescues,” she continued. The little dog is currently held at the Narices Frias Foundation’s Gamaliel Shelter, but he is searching for a new home.
Claudia realized, however, after a few days of promoting him on social media, that some Facebook meme groups had uploaded the dog to make fun of him rather than contribute to his adoption.
“Please help me clarify that he is up for adoption, that he needs a home, and that he is in the #RefugioGamaliel de Narices Frias,” she wrote.
“It doesn’t bother me in the least that ordinary people reject his sensitive clinical condition and make fun of his little head; all I want is for everyone to know that he is seeking for a home where he may begin the therapy he requires.” She went on to say, “It will save your life.”
Similarly, he stated that Chupete is seeking rich godparents to assist him with the expenses of a tomography and various X-ray examinations.
