Even if you’re a small person, you may still be a person who makes a difference. Several kind-hearted children from Detroit proved that in 2016. Four brothers, Kenny (13), Kevin (7), Andrew (7), and Kenneth (11), were helping a neighbor move when they made a devastating discovery. They observed a dog in serious need of help. She had been tied to an abandoned house with a bungee cord. The poor animal looked famished and absolutely miserable.
The boys fed her some bologna and carried the small brown dog home with them. They took care of her until someone from Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue could come for her. In the mean time, they christened her Sparkles.
Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue founder Theresa Sumpter said the kids really seemed invested in Sparkles’ fate.
“You could see they genuinely love this dog. They were protective of the dog and wanted to make sure the dog was going to a decent place.”
Though they eventually were not able to adopt Sparkles, they’re absolutely the reason she’s safe and healthy! That surely constitutes making a difference. In reality, these lads have saved several pets with Detroit Pit Crew’s help. Sometimes little people can be the kindest people.
Onwards And Upwards For Sparkle
Just a few days after the four brothers found Sparkles, she was already on her road to a better life. Detroit Pit Crew shared on Facebook that she headed to Pet Tales Rescue to find a permanent home.
“We are thrilled to share that our darling girl Sparkles is now vaccinated, spayed and HW negative! Bella is currently getting set to be transported to our friends at Pet Tales Rescue in Grand Rapids, MI to find a forever home of her very own! Thank you to those lovely kids who assisted this sweet girl!!!”
Detroit Pit Crew consists exclusively of volunteers concerned about rescuing the street animals of Detroit. They need on donations to function, and also on the help of other residents worried about strays like Sparkle.
“We are grateful for the people that let us know when a stray dog is in need of rescue. The streets and unsafe conditions \sin and around the city of Detroit are damaging to these wonderful animals. It is our objective to rescue whatever stray dog we can.” – Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue
